Fun Game Night with Wipeout for Wii!

I have to say out of all the movie rental places there are, we use Redbox weekly to rent movies and love it! Recently Redbox has started offering games to rent as well and just like the movies, we love renting the games as well!

Last week I received Wipeout the game for Wii to try out, along with a few game codes to rent games from our local Redbox. First I have to say using Redbox is very easy and with little ones, making anything we do quick and painless is my kind of event! I love that it is as easy as stopping by your local Redbox and grabbing your movie or game. No running into stores, standing in line or waiting for someone to check you out.

I do recommend that you reserve your movie or game online to make sure you get what you want! We did run into a problem with the first Redbox we stopped at, it was out of one of the games we wanted to rent. Luckily there are several Redbox in our area so we were able to head to another location and find the game our girls wanted!

Renting from Redbox is as easy as stopping by your local Redbox, hit the button that says rent, browse through movies or games and click add to cart. Hit pay and follow the instructions how to pay and then get your movie or game!  Locate your local Rexbox here!

We invited a few of the girls friends over and had a pj Wii party! We played WipeOut and rented Just Dance 3! These games are so much fun and kept us busy for several hours! The girls love Wipeout- jumping over barrels, bouncing off huge rubber balls, getting hit with fake boxing gloves and racing to beat their friends to the end. My new favorite game is Just Dance 3, it keeps you moving the whole game and with the great song selection, you will stay entertained the whole game!

Use Your Wii or 3DS to Watch Movies?

As you can read here, we have had a great time playing our new Wii with our Battle of the Wii days! We recently received a DS Lite, review coming soon, and have had tons of fun with it as well! But I found this article that you can use your Wii or DS for more than just games, you can now watch movies?!?! According to this study, half of Netfix subscribers use their gaming system to stream their video! I need to learn how to do this! Do you use your gaming system with Netflix?
Even better, Nintendo is making it easier to use Nextfix with their new 3DS handheld game system with a Nextflix app! My girls would love to have one of these new 3DS and now I want one to watch movies! Technology is an amazing thing! With all the fun things that are created, who needs to leave their home! You can read the whole article below!

Study:  Half of Netflix Users Connect Through Game consoles

Half of subscribers to online video service Netflix stream their content using a video game console, finds a Nielsen survey. According to the survey, 25% of Neflix users stream video through the Nintendo Wii, 13% use the PlayStation 3 and 12% access the service via Xbox Live. Nielsen also found usage of video site Hulu was far less frequent on game consoles. The survey found 3% of Hulu users accessed videos through the Wii, and an additional 3% via PS3, while 2% used Xbox.Watching directly on a computer topped all other channels, with 42% of Netflix users and 89% of Hulu users taking that approach. Recently, Nintendo launched a Netflix app for its 3DS handheld.

Review- Wii Play: Motion Game + Controller- just $49.99

Since receiving our new Wii, inside days for our girls have become much more fun! Battle of the Wii has become a whole family request! Summer boredom is a thing of the past with all these great games from Wii. Our newest game that we have added to the Battle of the Wii is, Wii Play: Motion.

Wii Play: Motion is a this great new game that includes 12 games where you have to move your controller in a variety of ways to  make it through the course! Our favorite by far is the Ice Cream Scoop game and the Umbrella game. The Ice Cream scoop game has you see how high you can stack scoops of ice cream while balancing them on a cone! (pictured above) The Umbrella game is so much fun, my girls said that they would love to do this in real life!! This game makes you move your umbrella up, down, side to side to move through the race course using the wind to move you along! Another great game, Mii Pose, where you have to move your Mii in a variety of ways to fit through a hole without breaking it. (pictured below) My girls love this game!

You can buy the Wii Play: Motion for just $49.99 each and it includes the Wii Play: Motion game and a Wii Motion controller. You can play with up to 4 players and is rated E10+, everyone 10 years old or older. If you and your family have not picked up a Wii console yet, you should go get it now. Not only is it at a great price right now of just $149.99 but it is a great way for you and your family to spend some quality time together.

Wii Play: Motion offers fun motion-controlled experiences for everyone. Immerse yourself in 12 fun and exciting games with challenging game-play variations. Using Wii Remote Plus controller, up to four players can play a variety of games with unlock-able modes.

All of the games can be played in both single-player and multi-player modes. No matter how many people are holding controllers, everyone in the room can participate in the fun of Wii Play: Motion. Games offers rich single-player experiences and even better multi-player fun. Master the east-to-pick-up controls and share the fun with others.

Wii Play: Motion combines fun and value in a powerful package only for Wii. For those looking to ass an extra controller to their collection, Wii Play: Motion includes one Wii Remote Plus controller, making this title a must have for any Wii console owner!

Ours girls list of games that they want for our Wii are slowly getting crossed off one by one!! As soon as we saw the commercials for this, it went to the top of their list, so I am so happy that we got to try it out!! Now to buy the Wii Fit and U Draw Tablet and game- those are what mama wants~~!

What Wii games are you and your family playing this summer?

Review- Nintendo Wii and 3 games

With the economy still struggling and families still counting every penny, vacations may not be an option this summer for most families. So one thing we are doing this summer is having mini vacations at home. We have planned out most of the summer and we have numerous days of heading to our local YMCA to go swimming, our local parks for a day of playing in the sun and to our local library for a day of learning and exploring new books! These are just a few of the days we have planned but another day is our battle of the Wii (I’ll tell you more about it in a bit)! These are all great ways for our family to save money but still have a fun filled summer vacation.

Nintendo has jumped on board to help families like us make the most of our summer. They are offering you a new affordable price of just $149 for the Wii system, Mario Kart Game and Wheel accessory all in one! They are also offering 4 games for a very low price of $19.99 each for Wii Sport, Mario Super Sluggers, Animal Crossing: City Folk and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This is a great way to not only help your family get up and stay active while playing games, but to give families a great way to have fun at a low cost!

We had the great pleasure of trying out the Mario Kart game on our new Wii and I have to tell you, it pretty much has been on since we got it! I have had to unplug it from the back of our t.v. to get our girls to stop playing. But not just our girls, my husband comes home from work and yells down into the family room, who wants to get beat at Mario Kart! So this has definalty been a great product for our family!

Battle of the Wii includes a day (usually rainy or too hot days) of competitions on Mario Kart, Wii Sports and Disney Sing It! Right now our favorite is the Mario Kart and even our 3 year old is in on the action! Racing down raceways, bouncing on giant mushrooms, throwing turtle shells at your competition, collecting coins and so much more. It is a very exciting game filled with fun adventures! Our oldest daughter is having a great time playing the Animal Crossing: City Folks as well, she loves creating her own little person who can design their own home, go fishing, buy stuff at the store and meet new friends.

Now we can cross off Mario Kart on our Wii wish list.  What games are you and your family playing on the Wii? I had been wanting the Mario Kart game and the U Draw Game & Tablet, my girls have been wanting the Mario Kart game for ds and the new Nintendo DS XL, but I think they are going to have to wait on those. My husband just seems to have fun with any of the ones we get but I did see at Bass Pro Shop a new fishing and hunting Wii game that we may pick up for Father’s Day! Do any of you have these games? Do you like playing them?

So what fun things do you have planned this summer? Are you going on vacation or are you staying home? What ways do you save on at home activities?

I was provided with a Wii system and 3 games in exchange for this review. No other compensation was provided. My opinion is 100% my own!
