Leftover Easter Candy? Make Smore’s With It!

easter smores 2

I found an entire bag of Easter candy in the pantry that I must of hid from the girls after Easter. With my older 2 now having slightly higher insulin levels, I have been cutting sugar out of their diet everywhere I can – so I hid candy, sue me! With that being said I do allow them special treats every once in awhile, all in moderation!

Anyways I decided to treat the girls after dinner last night with a smore’s made with the left over Easter candy I found! No sense in wasting it! So here is what I used to make our smore’s!

Ingredients:

Add your chocolate and marshmallow to your graham cracker

Place the smore’s on a plate and pop in the microwave for about 30 seconds. If you can roast your marshmallows then go for it, but we couldn’t in the rain!

Add your top to the other side and smooch together! Pretty simple and a lot of fun for the kiddos to watch the Peep balloon up in the microwave!

Frugal Travel: Make Your Own Crayon Box

Travel Crayon Container

We are heading to Cedar Point this weekend and traveling with 4 kiddos can sometimes be a complete joy, others not so much! So I like to prepare and one thing I do is make things to keep them busy! My girls love to color and make great mater pieces so crayons are a must have in the car.

But your typical crayon box gets demolished in one trip, so I like to find alternatives to keeping our crayons together and not on my van floor! Plus finding new ways to reuse things we would typically throw in the trash, makes us extra happy to recycle!

This is what you will need:

That’s about it! Pretty simple project clean and add crayons! Great item to take with us in the car, at a restaurant or just anytime you need a crayon!!
