Almost FREE Sled and Inflatable Tubes at Kroger!

image

While at Kroger yesterday, I noticed a stack of sleds, Snow Skimmers and inflatable tubes with a sign that said Winter Clearance. Usually if something is not tagged with a % off or a price, I will walk on by. But the kiddos were with me and of course they wanted to check them out! Even though we weren’t able to go sledding this year, they know that I will buy cheap items at the end of the season for next year! My oldest daughter spotted a price tag on the floor that said that each of these items were just $1! I thought, no way, really!?!?!

Well we went to check out, I had the cashier price check them first and sure enough, only $1! So $60 worth of sledding stuff for just $5! Can’t beat it! Be sure to check your local Kroger and see what you can find!

The Truly Awesome- Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookie Review- Yummy!

Are you a cookie lover or have a desire for the newest sweet treat? I do have to admit I have a bit of a sweet tooth, okay I am totally not telling the truth! I have a very big sweet tooth!! I will choice sweets anytime over something salty! So when I was asked to try out these new cookies from Kroger, The Truly Awesome- Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookies, I did my happy dance!

Opening the mail on days I know I am getting sweets, doesn’t seem so bad! When I opened the box of cookies, there was a great aroma that arose from the box! Not that smell that fills your house when you bake from scratch, but it was strong enough to smell as soon as you open the box- fresh chocolate chip cookies!!  As you can see below, these cookies are a little larger than your normal store bought cookies and they are filled with chocolate chips and looked very yummy! My first bite was good and crunchy, a little dry, but not enough to really effect the taste of the cookie. Not only did every bite have a chocolate chip or two in it, the taste was very delicious.  You could taste the butter and chocolate chip ingredients, making them taste homemade!

The Truly Awesome Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookie are a store brand box of cookies available at Kroger, Ralph’s or Fred Meyer stores. They do contain just 8 cookies and suggested retail prices is $2.79 each box. As a avid couponer and sale finder, these seem a little pricey for just 8 cookies even if they are a little larger than your normal box of cookies. But while at Kroger’s yesterday I did see a tear pad of coupons for these cookies, $1 off 1 box making them just $1.79 each box, making them a little more affordable for someone like me who is on a tight grocery budget!

All in all I really like these cookies and they will become a staple in our pantry!

The Truly Awesome brand also offers other great products:

  • Kroger’s Truly Awesome Lowfat Yogurt Tubes
  • Kroger’s Truly Awesome Lowfat Yogurt Cups
  • Kroger’s Truly Awesome Mac & Cheese
  • Kroger’s Truly Awesome Frozen Broccoli & 4 Cheese
I received 2 boxes of The Truly Awesome Homestyle Chocolate Chip Cookie from BzzAgent in the hopes that I would write about this product. No other compensation was received. My opinion is 100% my own.

>New Coupon Policy at Kroger- Houston Texas Area

>

There were rumors, now it has been confirmed! Kroger in Houston Texas area is doing away with double/triple coupons! You can read the press release below for the full details thanks to Living On Love and Cents! Here in Cincinnati our Kroger doubles coupons up to $1, so we have never had the advantage of triple coupons. But I don’t think I would be too happy if I lived in Houston right now!!

Here is the announcement just posted on www.kroger.com for Houston area Kroger shoppers.
Houston Announcement
An Important Message Regarding Greater Houston Texas Stores:

Kroger operates 2,458 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states across the country as 18 separate divisions. Each Kroger division offers various customer rewards and savings programs depending on each specific market.

Greater Houston, Texas area Kroger stores will discontinue the double/triple coupon program on Wednesday, April 13, 2011. We are in the process of finalizing the new coupon policy and will share this with local customers when it becomes effective. In the meantime, the information listed below should prove helpful in responding to your questions about the matter.

*With the growing popularity of digital coupons, mobile apps and manufacturers producing coupons valued at more than 50 cents, we feel it’s an ideal time to test out a new money-saving program and discontinue double/triple. There’s a possibility we may re-introduce double/triple by hosting special shopping events intermittently.
*We will still continue to accept coupons at face value. Part of the new policy states there is a limit of one electronic or paper manufacturer coupon per item. The opportunity to stack is no longer available. A digital coupon and manufacturer paper coupon may not be combined on the purchase of a single item. More than 100 digital coupons are available daily at www.kroger.com.
*If you have loaded an electronic coupon to your Kroger Plus card, then the digital coupon will apply before the manufacturer paper coupon.
* In addition to accepting coupons at face value, Kroger still offers a number of ways to save. We saved Texas shoppers more than $25 million in 2010 through different programs, including the generic drug pricing ($4/30-day supply and $10/90-day supply), fuel rewards, everyday 10% senior discount for shoppers who are 59 and older and our pick 6 wine discount. Also, Kroger customers will continue to receive Loyal Customer Mailings that include coupons tailored directly to the products they buy most.
* Through the fuel rewards program, shoppers save 3 cents per gallon everyday at Kroger Fuel Centers. There are 67 Kroger Fuel Centers in Greater Houston. Customers can save 10 cents per gallon at Kroger Fuel Centers and at more than 500 participating Shell locations in the area when they earn 100 fuel rewards points. Kroger 123 Rewards MasterCard holders continue to save 15 cents per gallon on fuel at Kroger.
* Rewards points can be earned in the following ways:
– Spend $100 on groceries, earn 100 points. ($1 = 1 point)
– Spend $50 on gift cards and we double the points. (1 $50 gift card = 100 points)
– Fill or refill 2 prescriptions at a Kroger Pharmacy. (1 prescription = 50 pts)

A more thorough outline of our coupon policy is to come; however, we want to equip you with key messages that can address your current concerns. Please feel free to use coupons before the double/triple program expires on Wednesday, April 13.

We appreciate your feedback and are anxious to share a new savings program to our Houston-area customers that will help you and your families save even more. Details will be released closer to the April 13th date.
