Looking to make your own baby shower decorations? Grab a bag of round balloons and long balloons to get started! I blew up the large balloon and tied it, blow up the long balloon and tie it to the round balloon. I then took a long balloon and only blew it up about 1/4 of the way and wrapped it around the middle to cover the ties. We then taped these to the wall so that you could not see the back where the middle part connects! Very Simple and so cute! You can use all kinds of different colors, add ribbons, draw on the balloons or whatever, get creative!

5 Summer Stain Tips from Frigidaire by Tara Aronson
Smudges, drips, drops and smears – no matter what their source, the key to keeping them from ruining your favorite shorts or T-shirt is to take quick action – before it gets a chance to dry.
For most fabrics, this means blotting up the excess or rinsing the discolored area with cold water (hot can set a stain.) Don’t rub: this spreads the spot and grinds it deeper into the fabric.
Summer spills are especially tough. Here’s how to remove the five most common:
1. Crayon.
Scrape off as much of the colorful surface as possible using a plastic picnic knife. Apply laundry detergent directly on the stained area. Gently rub the detergent into the fabric then let sit several minutes. Launder using the hottest water the fabric can handle – or the Sanitize setting of your Frigidaire Affinity washer. Dry as usual.
2. Iced coffee.
Sponge the stained area with cold water. Apply a pretreater to the blight. Wash as usual and air dry.
3. Grass.
Prewash the garment in warm water in your washing machine –the Rinse & Spin cycle on your Affinity washer – and a laundry detergent containing enzymes. Launder as usual (normal setting) with detergent and chlorine bleach if safe for the fabric. If the garment’s care label instructions advise against it, use oxygen (color safe) bleach instead. Dry as usual.
4. Juice.
Soak for a minute or so in cold water. Remove excess water, and then apply a pretreater directly on the stained area. Wash with detergent as usual. Air dry. Do not place in the dryer until the blight is completely gone – otherwise the stain is likely to set.
5. Chocolate (or chocolate ice cream).
Prewash the garment in warm water with a laundry detergent that contains enzymes using the Affinity’s Rinse & spin setting. Launder as usual, using the washing machine’s Normal setting. Dry as usual.

We keep a large plastic tote in our garage that I have been collecting certain items for us to re-use for various craft projects over the summer. With our kiddos on spring break this week I figured I would go ahead and pull out something and make something fun! With all this gardening that we have been working on, I thought I would make our girls a watering can since they want to help water everything!
To make your own watering can, here is what you need:
- Laundry Bottle (you can also use a milk jug or if you don’t want a handle, grab a 2 liter or for younger kiddos, use a 20 oz soda bottle)
- nail
- hammer
First rinse out your laundry bottle and lid. Grab the lid from the bottle and use the hammer and the nail to make holes in the top of the lid. The more the better seems to work best.
TIP** We did try this with another brand of laundry detergent and had some trouble. The lid had lines in the top and was a thinner plastic. The first whack with the hammer, split the top and made a large crack through the entire top of the lid. The laundry bottles with a flat top and thicker lid, seem to work best. Just thought I would share!
Then you will need to make a few holes in the laundry bottle, near the top. This way the water can flow easily through the holes in the lid. At first we did not add the holes in the laundry bottle and had a very hard time get water to come out. As long as you don’t fill the laundry bottle to the rim you won’t have to worry about it leaking from these holes.
Once you get all your holes in the laundry bottle you will have a fun watering can for the kiddos that cost you…….. absolutely nothing! These are my favorite kind of FREE!
I love finding new ways to use items that we would normally just throw in the recycling bin! What items have you re-purposed?

Over the weekend the girls asked if we could purchase the 3pk of bath crayons at Meijer for $4.99! I quietly laughed to myself and thought, I know how to make something better and for a lot less! They weren’t happy that I said no, but I told them when we get home I will make you something better to play with in the tub!

I found a can of shaving cream and grabbed the food color! Headed to the sink with an empty egg carton, added a few drops of food coloring to each section and then filled each section half full with shaving cream! Once you start mixing, the shaving cream will expand, so don’t over fill it- half full seemed to be plenty!
Once it is all mixed up, I grabbed a few paint brushes, put our 3 year old in the tub and let her at it!! She quickly thought this was the coolest stuff ever and of course the 10 year old and 7 year old wanted to have their turn in the tub when our 3 year old was finished!

Quickly making a masterpiece on the tub walls, our girls asked if this is something they could do weekly!! Since this is something that cost me less than .25, I have no problem with them doing this! I can normally grabbed a can of shaving cream for about .50 each – .75 each (on sale and with a coupon), plus a few drops of food coloring! I used very little of both the food coloring and shaving cream, so one can could last for weeks!

I love finding things around the house to use for fun new crafts for the kiddos!
FYI!! And just so you know, the homemade bath paint cleaned off completely and did not stain our walls or tub. I would recommend getting the tub walls wet before you let the little ones paint just to make sure that the color does not stain the grout in between the tiles! This seems to make sure ours didn’t stain!
