This time of year always seems to be a blurr- Thanksgiving dinner, Black Friday shopping, more shopping and Christmas with both sides of the family! Keeping up with house work seems to get harder and harder every year! Making sure my house smells clean and fresh is always a concern for me. That is the first thing I notice when I walk into someones house is the smell, so I tend to make sure our house smells good at all times! Regardless if I left a few shoes or toys out, I know that guests are not thinking, wow this place is a mess and smells bad! So when I was asked to try out a new plug-in warmer from Scentsy, from Susan, I grabbed it!
A little background about Scentsy- Scentsy began with a simple idea—a safe, wickless alternative to scented candles—and quickly grew into one of the most successful direct selling companies. This wickless concept was born when two stay-at-home moms began selling decorative warmers designed to melt scented wax with the heat of a light bulb instead of a traditional wick and flame.
Scentsy joined the Direct Selling Association (DSA) in 2004 and enrolled its first Independent Consultant. Since then, the company has expanded operations, hired a strong executive team, and received numerous awards for its growth and ethical business practices, including being named the number one consumer products company on the 2010 Inc. 500 list, appearing on the 2010 Direct Selling News Global 100 list of top direct selling companies, and receiving both the DSA’s 2010 Success Award and the DSA’s 2009 Rising Star Award.
In just seven years, Scentsy has generated more than $900 million in revenue. Today, the company’s family of passionate Independent Scentsy Consultants shares the Scentsy experience and the Scentsy difference throughout the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, Canada, and Europe.
With 3 kids under 10, having candles burning through out the house isn’t always a safe option! So knowing that I could use a warmer that smelled great with out worrying about the hazard of the kids burning themselves or the house, was a great idea!
When I first opened the plug-in Scentsy Warmer box, I noticed that it only had a few pieces making it simple to put together. As easy as adding a light bulb to the base and then adding the decorative top! Then add a piece of the scent bar (I used Autumn Stroll) to the top of the decorative top and plugging it in! It was very sturdy as it went into the outlet, leaving no room for movement, assuring me that it wouldn’t fall out of the outlet and spill. Just after 15 minutes I could already smell the scent and within an hour our entire family room was filled with a great warm, fall smell.
If you have little ones, you will want to make sure that you have this in an outlet high enough that they won’t mess with it. As I was reviewing the product, I had it in an outlet in our family room that was at floor level. I left the room to finish a load of laundry and a few minutes later our 3 year old said, “mom, I can’t get this stuff off my fingers!”. After looking at her fingers, I had realized that she had stuck her fingers in the wax of the warmer. To my surprise it was not hot enough to burn her. I then stuck my finger in to see how hot it was and it was barely warm! Candles often get very hot, making the wax hot enough to burn your skin if you would happen to stick your fingers in it! So this is very comforting to know that my nosy 3 year old won’t get burned if she happens to do this again!
I have moved our Scentsy Plugin Warmer to our kitchen where I could place it in an outlet away from my kids, but it is now on the first floor of our home (We have a tri-level). Now when we have guests over the first thing they will notice is the fall scent coming from my new Scentsy Warmer! I love it!
Overall I love this Scentsy Plugin Warmer, I may even have to pick up a few extra for Christmas gifts! Now to start buying more scent bars for myself!!
