This is a wonderful idea. I did it (without that amazing project kit) and gave one to my Son, Daughter and Sister. In it I put favorite recipes of my Grandmother’s, my Mother’s and my Mother-in-law’s. I did the cover with clip-art as well as scattering it throughout the recipe pages and put them in 3 ring binders in protective sheets (I added empty additional pages for them to put in their favs too. The books were a great success and now we are trying to convert it into a cd. It is such a family keepsake for all of us. Who would have thought it!!

Thanks Ann, that is such a great idea! I have been wanting to put one together for a while now! I think it would be great to pass it down to generation to generation!
I am going to echo the above comment in saying what a good idea it is but I am coming at it from a different angle. We lost my dad last Christmas and he made the best chilli I have ever tasted, it was amazing. We sometimes joke that we miss it as much as him, after reading the above I am thinking about getting anyone in the family that can make anything to write it down and I will somehow put them into a publication of sorts!

Thats a great angle to come at things from, why not go a step further and put a photo of the “original” familt cook alongside each recipy?
