We love finding new ways to help our little ones learn. We play games in the car, we cook together, count everything and anything and point out colors or words we see along the way or around the house. With a 5th grader, 2nd grader and a pre-schooler we have 3 very different levels of learning to try to work with and 3 very different styles of wanting to learn! Finding ways to get all 3 of our girls to join in on the fun of learning, does get harder and harder, but one way that always seems to work is music. So when got the chance to try out another great DVD from Rock N Learn I was super excited!

When I opened the Sight Words DVD, I heard my 5th grader and 2nd grader, both say “we already know our sight words!” I explained to them that even though they may have already learned them that it doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t review them occasionally. So we popped the DVD in and started singing our sight words. Within minutes our pre-schooler was dancing around and truly enjoying the DVD. The older 2 were a little hesitant but they soon joined in as well, with the singing that is!! This DVD quickly was added to our collection of DVD’s to play in the car. I think after about 100 times of this being played in the car, I am reciting the songs in my sleep! Now our 3 year old is well on her way to knowing all her sight words. She has even picked out a few sight words in our bed time reading, very impressive!

Sight Words, a new DVD program from Rock ‘N Learn, helps kids learn to read. Using fun music and exciting characters, kids learn to read over 60 words. These are the most common words used in the English language and are words kids need to know automatically.
